Harry Potter as your academic syllabus:ICSE

Planning to bash your luck against platform number 9 3/4 ? Then this news is specially for you.

When it comes to uniqness in education,ICSE has always made the headlines.And they have done it yet again.

According to recent media reports,ICSE has announced it’s newly reformed syllabus which will pe replacing old shakespearean content with modern and much popular names like Harry Potter, Tintin, Noddy.

Kids from class l and ll will get to study stories of Noddy, toyland, Big Ears, Tessy bear and goblins.

From class lll onwards,the board is going to use popular names like Harry Potter,Tintin,graphic novels such as Amar Chitra Katha and Asterix ,the American cartoonist Art Spiegelman’s Holocaust saga ‘Maus’ in order to make learning easier and these will be introduced for Classes upto VIII.

The syllabus change list doesn’t end here. In the latest edition kids will get to read about Feluda, Poirot and Holmes and also Bilbo Baggins in JRR Tolkien’s The Hobbit. While not so familiar names such as PG Wodehouse are also making ways into common.

Knowing the impact of true stories,board has also decided to introduce iconic autobiographies such as The Diary of Anne Frank and I am Malala.

The board has suggested it’s schools to implement this huge step of change as soon as possible while it has also given a time window of one session to ease the process.
