Sunil Chhetri became the first Indian footballer to score 50 international goals.He achieved the tittle during the second match of the second round of qualifiers for 20198 world cup , which was against Guam at their home football stadium,Guam is a U.S. island territory in Micronesia.
Sunil Chhetri born on 3 august 1984 at Secundrabad ,A.P. plays as a striker and also he is the captain of Indian national football team. Chhetri began his carrier in 2002 at Mohun Began then after he moved to JCT Mills.He helped India to win 2007 Nehru cup as well as other cups also.
Although India loose the match by 1-2 , Earlier India also lost their first match which was against Oman by 1-2,Oman is 1000 mile long coastal plain at the southeast tip of Arabian peninsula lying on the Arabian sea and the gulf of Oman.
In the list of top three swcorers for India Sunil Chhetri became the first by scoring 50 goals in 87 matches. Bhaichung who has scored 42 goals in 107 matches is at the second position and I M Vijayan who has scored 40 goals in 79 matches is ast third.
